While traditional home care often focuses primarily on assistance with daily tasks, dementia care requires a specialized understanding of memory loss, behavioral changes, communication techniques, emotional reassurance, and routine-based support.

Many families wait until they feel overwhelmed before seeking help, but dementia support can often be beneficial much earlier.
You may want to consider professional dementia support if your loved one is:
Repeating questions more frequently
Experiencing increased confusion or forgetfulness
Spending long periods of time alone
Struggling to maintain daily routines
Needing additional supervision for safety
Becoming anxious, withdrawn, or isolated
Showing signs of wandering or disorientation
Requiring more support than family caregivers can realistically provide
At Reminiscence at Home, we often find that early dementia support helps create greater stability, comfort, and routine while reducing stress for the entire family. Our goal is to help individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia remain engaged, supported, and comfortable at home for as long as possible.
